Looking for a workshop space in Wrocław and running into yearly contracts, rooms with no character or booking by phone? You run a class once a week, so you only want to pay for those hours. This checklist helps you assess any room in 10 minutes. At the end we show how it works at SPOT 2.0 on Solskiego 6.
What to check when choosing a room by the hour: a checklist
Before you pay for the first booking, go through these 10 points. Ideally on site, or during a short call with the owner. Write the answers down for each room, so you compare offers on the same criteria and not on listing photos.
- Capacity in your layout. Ask how many people fit on mats, at tables and standing. Those are three different numbers, and a listing usually shows only the biggest one.
- Acoustics. Bare walls and concrete carry sound. Before a meditation or a support group, listen to how a normal conversation sounds in the room.
- Daylight. Big windows make a difference for painting and floristry. Paint and flower colours look the way they really are.
- Facilities. A toilet, a place for coats and a kitchenette where you can boil water or rinse brushes. Without them every break gets chaotic.
- Getting there. Check the stop, parking and whether participants will easily find the entrance. Send them short directions the day before.
- Flexible hours. What matters is the minimum booking time and the closing hour. Add 30 minutes to set up and 15 minutes to tidy up.
- Online booking. A calendar with free slots and instant payment save you emails and calls. You get the confirmation in writing straight away.
- House rules. Read them before the first booking. Check the rules on cancellation, cleaning, decorations and alcohol, for example in the SPOT Studio terms.
- How it looks in participants' photos. People post photos from classes. A bright, calm interior works for your brand at no extra cost.
- Cost of a regular slot. Ask about a package for recurring classes. For two-hour weekly classes, a 20 zł difference per hour adds up to over 2000 zł a year.
Which room for which class
The same room works differently for yoga and for floristry. Here is what to look at for the four most common formats.
Yoga and movement classes
When looking for a yoga room in Wrocław, count square metres per person, not only the total area. A mat with spacing takes about 2–2.5 m² per participant. So 60 m² fits 20–25 mats.
- An even, clean floor without thresholds or cables.
- A way to air the room before and after class.
- Quiet from outside, especially during the final relaxation.
- A speaker you can connect your phone and playlist to.
- A place for shoes and coats, so they do not lie next to the mats.
Creative workshops: sip and paint, floristry, candles
Hands-on workshops need tables, daylight and access to water. For 15–20 people you can set tables as islands or as one long table.
- Looking for a sip and paint venue? Check the house rules first, because not every room allows alcohol. At SPOT 2.0 the rules forbid it, so with us this format works with alcohol-free wine or lemonade.
- For candles, ask about working with wax and heat sources.
- For floristry, protect the tables and plan how you clear up leaves and water.
Personal development workshops and therapy groups
A room for personal development workshops has to feel private. Check that you can cover the windows and that strangers will not walk in during the session. A cosy 60 m² supports conversation better than a big hall where the group drifts apart.
- Chairs you can set in a circle.
- Space for a tea break, outside the circle.
- Quiet and privacy rules to agree with the owner.
Private events: baby shower and hen party
Looking for a baby shower venue in Wrocław? Count the guests at the table and add room for gifts and the cake. The party itself usually needs 2–3 hours. For a hen party, check how late you can stay. At SPOT 2.0 events end by 20:00 at the latest, so it suits an afternoon workshop before dinner in town.
How much does it cost to rent a room by the hour in Wrocław
Renting a room by the hour in Wrocław usually costs 80 to 200 zł an hour. The spread comes from a few factors.
- Size and capacity. A room for 30 costs more than one for 8.
- Location. Good transport and a nice area raise the rate.
- Equipment. Tables, chairs, sound and a kitchenette are included or charged separately.
- Time and length of booking. Longer blocks and packages lower the hourly price.
How to check if a workshop pays off
Multiply participants by the ticket price and subtract the room and materials. Example for a two-hour class:
- 10 participants × 80 zł = 800 zł revenue.
- Room for 2 hours: 230 zł, or 200 zł with the package.
- You keep 570 zł, or 600 zł with the package, before materials.
- With 12 participants the room costs you only 19 zł per person.
Single booking or a package?
If you are still testing a new format, start with a single booking. You check the room, the journey and how participants react, with no commitment. Once you have a regular group meeting weekly, a package usually comes out cheaper. Do the maths on your own numbers: four sessions a month, same day, same time. A fixed slot also helps participants, because it is easier to put the class in their calendar.
